ASCD is governed by a Board of Directors, which meets several times a year and is chaired by the association's president.
Elections for the ASCD Board of Directors are contested, and no campaigning is allowed. A balanced slate of diverse, qualified candidates is selected annually by the Nominations Committee, and those elected serve staggered four year terms.
Eligible members will have until May 15 to cast their votes for new Board of Directors members and on the proposed Constitution and Bylaw change (see below). Successful Board candidates will take office on July 1, 2021. Meet the 2021 candidates
The Board of Directors recommends a proposed Constitution and Bylaw change to the Board size and number of appointed seats. The change will be voted on between April 1–May 15 by the ASCD membership and, if approved, will be effective June 1, 2021. Please take a few moments to review the proposed change and the rationale for it prior to casting your vote. For additional information, please watch the video below of the Governance Committee members discussion about the proposed Constitution and Bylaw change. If you should have any questions, please contact the ASCD governance manager.
