Why should I belong to my local affiliate?

Affiliate involvement will give you the chance to pursue professional interests as well as shape education at the local level. Affiliate members have many opportunities to develop leadership skills and to participate in activities designed to meet their specific needs. Involvement at the affiliate level often leads to leadership at the international level of ASCD. Affiliate members are an integral part of the governance of ASCD. Affiliate presidents serve on the ASCD Board of Directors and are often selected for advisory committees and panels. Affiliate members help to shape the future of education for children everywhere.
