Cathy Vatterott is an associate professor of education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. After she presented at several educational conferences, participants began referring to her as the “homework lady." As a parent, former teacher, and principal, she has experienced homework from a variety of perspectives.
Vatterott is the author of numerous articles about education, including "Homework Myths" and "There’s Something Wrong with Homework,” and the books
Academic Success Through Empowering Students and
Becoming a Middle Level Teacher: Student Focused Teaching of Early Adolescents. She frequently presents at a variety of state and national educational conferences and also serves as a consultant and workshop presenter for K–12 schools on a variety of topics.
