About the Author
SUE BEERS is an ASCD Faculty member and serves as the director of the Mid-Iowa School Improvement Consortium. Her classroom experience has been at the middle and high school levels in the areas of language arts, technology, gifted education, and driver education. During her 31-year career in education, she has also served as a district curriculum/ school improvement director and as joint services coordinator for the Iowa Area Education Agency system. She is a frequent presenter at state, regional, and national conferences and has been a writer and editor for a major educational publishing company. As an international trainer in literacy strategies, effective classroom instruction, Dimensions of Learning, school improvement, professional development planning, and assessment, she has worked with more than 400 schools and school districts.
