About the Authors
CAROL ANN TOMLINSON, EdD, is Professor of Educational Leadership, Foundations, and Policy at the University of Virginia and was a public school teacher for 21 years. In 1974, she was Virginia's Teacher of the Year. During Carol's time in public school, she taught in many differentiated classrooms and directed district-level programs for struggling and advanced learners.

CINDY A. STRICKLAND is pursuing her doctorate in educational psychology with an emphasis in gifted education at the University of Virginia and serves as teaching assistant to Carol Ann Tomlinson. She is an international consultant in the areas of differentiation of instruction, the Parallel Curriculum Model, and gifted education.
