About the Authors
ROSEMARYE TAYLOR (primary author) is an assistant professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Central Florida, specializing in instructional leadership with an emphasis on literacy. She has a rich literacy background that includes experience as a middle and high school reading, language arts, and Spanish teacher. She has also served as a high school assistant principal and a middle school principal and has been a district administrator in both urban and small city systems.
VALERIE DOYLE COLLINS (secondary author) is president of VL Collins Consulting, Inc., an organization focused on promoting and advancing liter-acy and literacy leadership. As a literacy consultant, she works with school districts throughout the United States and abroad. She spends much of her time providing professional development services while serving as a coach, mentor, and change catalyst for districts and schools targeting literacy learning for all students, especially the older struggling reader.
