About the Author
HUGH B. PRICE is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, the nation's oldest think tank. He served as president and CEO of the National Urban League from July 1994 through April 2003. During his tenure, he launched the Urban League's historic Campaign for African-American Achievement. During 2006–2007, he cochaired the Commission on the Whole Child, which was established by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
