About the Author
JAMES W. POPHAM is Professor Emeritus, UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. He has spent most of his career as a teacher, largely at UCLA, where for three decades he taught courses in instructional methods for prospective teachers and courses in evaluation and measurement for master's and doctoral degree candidates. In 1997, Dr. Popham received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Educational Research and Measurement from the California Educational Research Association.
