Candidate's Leadership Vision Statement

Kim KrossMy vision is to collaborate with other educators from around the country and across the globe to ensure that educators everywhere have timely, meaningful, and impactful resources to ensure that each of us feels well equipped when working toward our common goal of helping students.

I strive to ensure that students have opportunities regardless of their location or demographics and that academics can be tailored to the needs and style of each learner to help them find their passion and attain their learning goals. I will leverage my strengths in educational technology, leadership, and understanding differing needs of each community to provide resources, training, and support to the educational community at large in ways that allow all to leverage and tailor these to the needs of their educators and students.

  • Chief Operating Officer Elevate K–12
    • Led efforts to create super-remote teaching environment to assist in reducing the U.S. teaching shortage crisis. Scaled operation from offering 8 classes per day to over 600 classes per day using certified, virtual teachers with custom-built state and nationally aligned curriculum using a proprietary technology platform. This model also creates more equity in education by providing certified teachers to students in underserved districts who would often have year-long substitutes if not for our model.
    • Led the implementation, measurement, and coaching of more than 150 part-time teachers (scaling to over 500 by next year) allocated to different school programs across the country while ensuring the highest quality instruction and best student engagement for optimum student outcomes.
  • Vice President, Partner Operations, Amerigo Education
    • Designed and implemented international boarding programs with full complement of English language learning for foreign students wishing to come to the United States for high school and college.
  • Senior Director, Program Management, Nord Anglia Education (formerly Meritas Family of Schools)
    • Led implementation and collaboration efforts to design and rollout academic standards' quality and supporting systems across network of 10 global schools, inclusive of assessment, differentiation, and various social-emotional learning programs to fit the needs to each school's communities and constituents.

Biography Summary:

  • Kim Kross currently serves as the chief operating officer for Elevate K–12. Kross has a distinguished career leading the implementation of major programs and initiatives at global, educational institutions. Prior to Elevate, she was vice president of partner operations for Amerigo Education where she oversaw mid-west operations and nationwide operational best practices and program implementation.
  • Prior to that, she served as the senior director of program development and management at the Meritas International Family of Schools, where she successfully oversaw the implementation of the Meritas Academic Plan, Skyward SIS, and Meritas Teachers College. Previously, Kross was executive director of product engineering at Wall Street English and senior director of new products and services at Sylvan Learning Center.
  • Throughout her career, Kross has fostered collaboration amongst educators to create, implement, and globally distribute innovative solutions that help students of all ages achieve their goals. While not an educator by the traditional path, Kim found her way to the education sector in the early 2000s and, upon finding her passion, has never looked back. She has worked diligently over the last 17 years to find ways to help educators and students innovate education and educational technology to move the industry forward in positive ways for all constituents involved.
  • Kross holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of Maryland and received a Bachelor of Science in Management from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
