Given the continuing health threats and current unpredictability created by the current COVID-19 pandemic, ASCD has made the decision to cancel the Conference on Teaching Excellence and pre-conference institutes scheduled June 25–28 in Denver, Colorado.
As we were with our decision to cancel Empower20 in March, we are extremely disappointed to not be able to deliver the Conference on Teaching Excellence this June. Our decision was based on our continued commitment to our educator communities' health and safety. Additionally, we heard from an overwhelming majority of potential participants that you were unable to travel professionally in June given district or state restrictions.
We now look forward with excitement to convening the ASCD community in October for our Conference on Educational Leadership in Dallas, Texas and in March 2021, for our Empower21 conference in Washington, D.C. We are currently planning both events and are working to ensure the most relevant and high-quality learning experience for educators and a conference environment that nurtures collaboration among the ASCD community.
We are also currently exploring the possibility of virtual conferences in the near future to meet the ongoing needs of our constituency, so stay tuned for more information!
If you are registered for the Conference on Teaching Excellence in Denver, we will be issuing full refunds. In the meantime, please remember to cancel any travel arrangements you have made, such as hotels and airline reservations.
Sincerely,
Ranjit Sidhu CEO & Executive Director ASCD
