Travel Options

Philadelphia is a major East Coast hub, and the Pennsylvania Convention Center is easy to reach by plane, train, taxi, and shuttle. In fact, 40 percent of the U.S. population lives within a day's drive of the Convention Center.

Transportation to Philadelphia and Ground Transportation

By Plane

Located minutes from Center City, the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is served by all major domestic carriers, with flights to more than 100 cities in the United States. There are more than 1,000 arrivals and departures daily. For real-time flight departure and arrival information, call 1-800-PHL-GATE or view more at www.phl.org

Taxis

Taxi services can be picked up at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway. All taxi rates are based per trip, not per person. Most taxis can accommodate up to three passengers. In some cases, certain vehicle types can accommodate four passengers.

Taxi fare is $29.00 (flat rate) from the airport to the central Philadelphia area. This area encompasses Fairmount Avenue (the northernmost point) to South Street (the southernmost point), and the Delaware River (easternmost point) to University City/38th Street (westernmost point). Any destination that falls within these boundaries are eligible for the Center City flat rate. There is a $10.00 minimum fare from the airport to any destination.

Other fares are based on the meter, which based upon entry (flag drop) is $2.70 or $2.30 per mile or portion thereof. An additional $1.00 per passenger ($3.00 maximum) after the first passenger will be charged on flat-rate trips between the airport and Center City for passengers over age 12. Credit cards are accepted as a form of payment for taxi service.

Ground Transportation from Philadelphia International Airport

SEPTA: The best travel option when traveling between Center City and Philadelphia International Airport is by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's regional rail service, known as SEPTA.

Trains stop at all major Philadelphia International Airport terminals and reach Center City Philadelphia in approximately 25 minutes, with one intermediate stop.

Airport shuttle service will be available through Lady Liberty Transportation Company, Inc. Please visit this link for more information.
