Program

Each volunteer is responsible for facilitating two sessions at ASCD's Annual Conference. Your volunteer sessions will be assigned by ASCD staff and will not conflict with your ticketed session selections.

Outside of your assigned sessions, you are free to attend whatever conference events and sessions you wish. However, you must attend your two assigned volunteer sessions.

As a volunteer, you will greet the presenter before the session and ensure that everything is in order for the session to begin. Responsibilities also include

  • Taking tickets, if the session is ticketed.
  • Distributing and collecting session evaluation forms.
  • Completing a volunteer survey.
  • Serving as a liaison to ASCD staff.

Volunteer Responsibilities

On arrival at conference, you should stop by the Volunteer Office to pick up your two session packets. These packets will contain

  • A memo that explains your responsibilities.
  • 10 Scantron participant evaluation forms to distribute to participants.
  • A "This Session Is Full" sign to hang outside the room, if necessary.
  • A volunteer evaluation form to be completed by you.

Before an assigned session begins, you will greet your presenter(s) at the session room and make sure they have everything that they need. During the session, it is your responsibility to

  • Take tickets (if the session is ticketed) and monitor the crowd.
  • Put a notice outside the door if the session is full.
  • Count attendees.
  • Distribute and collect participant evaluation forms.
  • Complete the one-page volunteer evaluation form.

After your volunteer sessions, you must return all evaluations to the Volunteer Office during Conference hours.
