ASCD Annual Conference Scholars

San Antonio Scholars

Get ready to follow, learn from, and engage with ASCD Conference Scholars! This select group of education leaders from around the globe are teaming up before, during, and after ASCD's 2010 Annual Conference in San Antonio, Tex., to blog and tweet about school leadership in theory and in their own practice.

We invite ASCD members to jump into the discussion and take advantage of this group's expertise. Follow our blog on ASCD Inservice, or visit our yearbook to check out articles about leadership, find scholar Twitter accounts, and more!

What We're About

ASCD has invited the newly formed group of ASCD Conference Scholars to join forces during the 2009–2010 school year to stimulate discussion and share their experience and worldwide perspectives on schools leadership by blogging on ASCD Inservice, posting to Twitter, and writing for ASCD Express.

Before Conference

In the fall, ASCD Conference Scholars will lay the groundwork for a wide-ranging discussion on what school leadership means—the theory, research, challenges, and practicalities of implementation.

During Conference

As group members define their own leadership goals, they'll respond to a variety of ideas and research they gain from ASCD Annual Conference sessions.

After Conference

Finally, these leaders will talk about their efforts to put new ideas into play in their own professional settings, including classrooms, administrative offices, and districts.

Meet the Scholar Facilitators

Our scholar facilitators will help participants define and consider essential education leadership questions, interests, and focus areas at all levels—classroom, district, state, and national. Their goal is to grow in technology and leadership alongside the scholars and help create a 21st century education networking environment for dialogue and strategic communication.
