Alexandria, VA (02/04/2016)—ASCD has announced the launch of the 2016 ASCD Forum—“Learning for All = Teaching for All.” The forum, which consists of a series of online and in-person discussions among educators at all levels, will take place from February 1 through April 15 and will focus on how school systems and communities can best meet the diverse needs of the modern learner. Specific topics will include student equity, race, poverty, gender communities, mental health, language, and technology. For more information on the ASCD Forum and a schedule of themes, visit www.ascd.org/ascdforum.
“The ASCD Forum provides a valuable platform for our members and educators around the world to share their thoughts and offer their insights about timely topics of particular interest to the profession,” said Ronn Nozoe, ASCD’s associate executive director. “The 2016 forum will take on the topic of multiculturalism in education, one of the most important issues—education-related or otherwise—of our time, and will ask educators of all roles and all nations to help inform ASCD’s work in providing support and assistance to educators about all-inclusive learning techniques and teaching strategies.”
All educators across the globe are encouraged to join the ASCD Forum discussion. There are four primary ways to join:

In addition to the start of the 2016 ASCD Forum, February is also ASCD’s inaugural Affiliate Appreciation Month. Located in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and East Asia, the 54 ASCD affiliates work collaboratively as part of the ASCD community to foster common values and goals essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead. Affiliates influence education policy and provide a forum for the exchange of quality education practices. Learn more about Affiliate Appreciation Month in this Inservice post or by watching these video messages from ASCD Executive Director and CEO Deborah S. Delisle and Associate Executive Director Ronn Nozoe.
