ALEXANDRIA, VA—ASCD, one of the world's premier providers of professional learning for educators, has been recognized with several highly prestigious awards, including the organization’s first Emmy nomination for the digital video Engagement Tools for Charged-Up Learning: Laying the Groundwork.

APEX Awards
ASCD won two 2018 APEX Awards:
The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence recognize excellence in publishing by professional publishers, editors, writers, and designers for outstanding work in print, web, electronic, and social media.
Creative Child Awards
Creative Child Magazine's Awards Program is unique in that all products are submitted, reviewed, and selected by a team of parents, educators, and early education professionals. The Creative Child Awards named ASCD’s first-ever picture book, Cay and Adlee Find Their Voice, the 2018 Best Book of the Year. The story of two birds finding their unique voice, was written by Russ Quaglia with his daughter Cali and illustrated by award-winning artist Daniel Minter with Donald Ely.
Emmy Awards
The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is responsible for awarding the premier television production award to those whose work in the television industry in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia exhibits excellence in programming. The digital video Engagement Tools for Charged-Up Learning: Laying the Groundwork by Harvey Silver was nominated for a regional Emmy in the Education/Schools—Program Feature/Segment category.
