ALEXANDRIA, VA—ASCD has released eight new professional development books filled with practical strategies teachers can use to help students harness the power of their brains; increase student engagement and motivation; and reach all learners, including those with special needs. The new releases include publications from some of education’s most well-known authors—such as Thomas Armstrong, Jana Echevarría, Nancy Frey, and Douglas Fisher—as well as titles from talented educators publishing with ASCD for the first time. These publications address subjects as diverse as the explicit teaching of metacognition, gamification, strategies for teaching linguistically and culturally diverse students, and co-teaching, but each has a common goal: helping uncover powerful practices to reach every student in the classroom so that each child can attain success.
