All ASCD products and publications, including this website, are protected by the U.S. Copyright Act. It is an infringement of copyright law to reproduce, reuse, or republish a copyrighted work without the prior consent of the copyright holder. The following information will provide you with a better understanding of how to obtain permission for further use of ASCD material for both academic and nonacademic purposes.

Obtaining Permission to Reuse ASCD Material

Obtaining permission to reuse ASCD material is simple. Follow the guide below for each type of request.

For reproduction guidelines for limited distribution of periodical articles, please consult the FAQ.

Photocopy, Republication, or Electronic Use. For requests to photocopy, republish, or reuse ASCD content in electronic format, please contact the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) to obtain information and permission for using copyrighted material. You can also reach CCC by phone at 1-978-750-8400 or by mail at 222 Rosewood Drive, Danvers, MA 01923.

Permission to Translate. For permission to translate and distribute entire publications, contact translations. For more information on book translations, refer to ASCD Books in Translation. For permission to translate and distribute journal and newsletter articles, contact Rights & Permissions.

Danielson Framework (2007). For permission to use the Danielson Framework as an assessment tool, complete the permissions form below.

Video Requests. For permission to transfer VHS to DVD format or stream ASCD products, complete the permissions form below.

Glossy Reprint Orders. For orders of individual Educational Leadership articles (500+), contact The Reprint Outsource.

Students with Disabilities. For PDFs and transcripts for use by students with disabilities, submit your e-mail requests to Rights & Permissions.

ASCD requires written permission to transmit entire audio or film products via an intranet and for display or broadcast purposes. To ensure a timely response, complete this form in its entirety.

Note that ASCD does not grant permission to transmit or broadcast audio or film clips.

Note ASCD only grants permission to reproduce the entire audio or video product.
