Learn About ASCD

These free four-lesson courses are designed to help you explore ASCD's rich history and to consider ways that you can contribute to the Association and understand how ASCD contributes to quality learning and teaching.

ASCD Connected Communities

ASCD connected communities bring together groups of individuals concerned with improving learning and teaching that wish to align with ASCD. Each connected community determines its focus and definition. Communities defined by geographic boundaries must be located in areas where there are no existing ASCD affiliates.

Connected communities are one of the formal structures in which ASCD members provide leadership for self-organized groups within the ASCD community. Rather than employing a standard Association template to administer the groups, connected communities are designed from the educator's perspective to both meet local needs and enrich the overall ASCD community.

Find the current ASCD connected communities and their contact information in the connected communities directory.

Learn how to start your own connected community.

Read the latest connected community news and see the resources available from ASCD in News and Resources.

Consult the Connected Community FAQ for answers to your questions.

Use the ASCD Action Center to speak out on education issues.
