Equity, Access, and Rigor: Helping Traditionally Under-Represented Students Access and Be Successful with Highly Rigorous Courses
July 12, 2012 | Baltimore, Md.
Many students could do well in advanced courses such as AP or IB but are underprepared to do so. Not only are they missing critical background knowledge, but they are also missing key "soft skills" that would help them successfully master rigorous content.
In this session, learn how to support underprepared and traditionally underrepresented students in advanced courses. Discover how to develop specific support strategies to set up students for success, develop critical soft skills, and fill background knowledge gaps and find out how to support struggling students without sacrificing the rigor of your program.
