Marc Cohen

Marc Cohen, currently principal at Seneca Valley High School in Montgomery County, Md., began his career as an English teacher before becoming a central office supervisor and principal at both the middle and high school levels. Several years ago, Cohen was recognized by ASCD as their Outstanding Young Educator in recognition of his work in addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in student achievement.

Already a well-known and respected speaker and trainer at local, state, and national conferences, Cohen most recently has provided keynote addresses and professional development to teachers, administrators, and central office personnel in Maryland, Virginia, Nebraska, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. Recent topics include: “Leading for Excellence Through Equity,” “Adaptive Leadership Framework—Case-in-Point Protocol,” “The Role of Schools in Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery,” and “Eliminating the Racial Predictability of Student Achievement—One Teacher at a Time.”
