Eleanor Renee Rodriguez

Rodriguez is a coauthor of the thought-provoking book What Is It About Me You Can't Teach? An Instructional Guide for the Urban Educator. She shares her research and teaching experiences on the factors that influence the achievement of students less likely to be successful in the traditional classroom. She is nationally and internationally recognized for her presentation style and strategies for improving the performance of diverse learners.

Rodriguez has consulted in 48 of 50 U.S. states, from rural to urban districts and from preK through college. Her interest is in using professional development as a vehicle to promote equity and excellence at all levels and for all students and educators. She has held positions from substitute teacher to superintendent in Nebraska, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Maryland, and Virginia.

Rodriguez is currently an education consultant for Rodriguez and Associates. She earned her doctorate in educational administration at the University of Texas at Austin, a master's degree in urban education and an educational specialist degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from Creighton University.
