January 2015 Webinar Sessions

Performance Tasks: Maintaining cognitive rigor in a world of PARCC and Smarter Balanced

The January webinars will focus on performance tasks and formative assessment. Faculty members will discuss strategies and resources for ensuring that students are meeting rigorous standards. Strategies will focus on involving students in the process so that students are aware of where they are and where they are going. Each webinar facilitator will tailor their session to ensure you receive content that is subject-specific and relevant to your needs. Dates and times for the January sessions are listed below. Additional ideas and resources will be posted in the ASCD EDge communities for each content area. Click on the topic to register.

What is 
the VLN?

The Virtual Learning Network (VLN) consists of virtually connected educators meeting through webinars and social media.

The webinars are held 4 times over the school year in 4 subject areas and are facilitated by ASCD Faculty experts. Webinar content centers on topics of interest and participants’ areas of need as related to the Common Core State Standards.

Participation also includes interactivity through subject-specific groups on ASCD's social networking platform for educators, ASCD EDge.
