Learn about how to plan and implement an engaging form of embedded professional development in which teachers are actively involved as observers of peers in classroom walk-throughs.
Kachur, author of the ASCD book Engaging Teachers in Classroom Walkthroughs, explores how to create a teacher-led walk-through model and get teachers involved and actively participating in opportunities to observe, be observed, and engage with one another in reflective discussions on how to improve teaching and learning.
The webinar includes a focus on fostering a receptive school culture for teacher walk-throughs, the supporting role of the school principal, coordinating and scheduling walk-throughs, developing walking norms, dealing with resistant or reluctant teachers, and sustaining the walk-through momentum.
Recorded July 30, 2013
Topics: principal leadership | teacher effectiveness and motivation
