About the Author
Thomas R. Hoerr has been the head of New City School in St. Louis, Missouri, since 1981. Prior to that he was a principal in the School District of University City, Missouri, and a teacher in two other school districts. Tom founded, directed, and taught in the Washington University Nonprofit Management Program. He has taught graduate classes in leadership and given presentations at many conferences.
Understanding the power of Edward Albee's words, “I write to find out what I am thinking,” Tom has written Becoming a Multiple Intelligences School (2000) and more than 50 articles. His writing often centers on multiple intelligences implementation, school leadership, and faculty collegiality. Tom holds a doctorate in educational policymaking and program development from Washington University, a master's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a bachelor's degree from Harris Teachers College.
