About the Author
Mary Catherine Moran has nearly 30 years of experience in the field of education as a classroom teacher, a professional development provider for teachers who work with students with disabilities, and a literacy coach. She has an M.S. in reading from the State University College at Albany, an M.S. in special education from Syracuse University. She is permanently certified in New York State in reading, special education, and elementary education. In her current position as Senior Literacy Specialist at the State University of New York College at Oneonta, she has been instrumental in assisting state and local education agencies with high-leverage training and support of literacy coaches in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Mary Catherine's work with literacy coaches focuses on using student data to inform instruction and providing a continuum of professional learning opportunities. She has also managed state and local projects related to curriculum alignment, differentiated instruction, and school reform.
