Introduction
You are probably familiar with questioning techniques such as using wait time or open-ended questions as instructional strategies. In this section, we are interested in using the information from these questions to learn more about what students understand. This knowledge will help you and your students discover what they understand, improve their learning skills, and identify next steps for achieving their learning goals.
Goals for Session 5
- Understand the role of student discourse and use effective questions to stimulate students' thinking during the formative assessment process.
