      During its meeting in New Orleans, the Board of Directors approved ASCD's new mission and vision statements. Both reflect the Association's 2008–2011 Strategic Plan, which also received Board approval.
      Our Mission: ASCD is a membership organization that develops programs, products, and services essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead.
      Our Vision: ASCD is the worldwide leader in learning, teaching, and educational leadership. We provide expert and innovative solutions for addressing the opportunities and challenges learners face in the 21st century. We engage and connect diverse communities dedicated to the success of each learner.

      EL’s experienced team of writers and editors produces Educational Leadership magazine, an award-winning publication that reaches hundreds of thousands of K-12 educators and leaders each year. Our work directly supports the mission of ASCD: To empower educators to achieve excellence in learning, teaching, and leading so that every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
