ASCD Professional Interest Communities are member-initiated special-interest groups designed to unite people around a common interest in the education field. Professional interest communities allow participants to exchange ideas, share information, identify and solve problems, grow professionally, and establish collegial relationships. The communities are flexible, fluid, and based on participants' needs. Each professional interest community is operated independently and provides different educational resources to its members.
ASCD has almost 30 different communities that address an array of education topics, including arts education, assessment, brain-compatible learning, early childhood education, environmental education, gifted education, higher education, multiple intelligences, and teacher and principal evaluation. Check out the directory of existing communities and learn about creating your own at www.ascd.org/networks.
