What Is Your Vision for ASCD? Today, and arguably more than ever, education faces its greatest challenges. With the challenges come unprecedented opportunities for change. Although change is often difficult, it must be positive and empowering. We must be diligent and deliberate about setting new trends and traditions for the next generation. There is no escaping the responsibility we have to equip each student to become an innovative thinker and problem-solver—critical skills required for success in a global community. Additionally, we have a responsibility, a calling, to meet the needs of the whole child. It will become our measuring stick.

ASCD is an organization of great influence and is the premier organization that has shaped teaching and learning worldwide. My vision is that ASCD will continue to call upon its greatest resource, a diverse community of passionate educators, and lead through an era of complex change. Collaboratively, we can forge the next steps that will become our time-honored traditions. As ASCD expands its circle of influence, we must be unwavering in our commitment to shape policy that promotes best practices in teaching and learning. I embrace the opportunity to contribute my passion for service to ASCD as we build the next generation of educators.
