On May 10, 2017, ASCD live-streamed the fifth Whole Child Symposium live from American University in Washington, D.C., for a conversation about equity in education that covered issues of race, economics, culture, gender, and more.
Equity has been understood to be both a key driver of school improvement and a major factor in ensuring that each child is able to achieve and succeed, yet our systems and societies still harbor inequities. Hosted by educators and for educators, this discussion features a diverse group of panelists who address some of the various factors that should be considered when working toward equity in education.
