Gloria Lodato Wilson is associate professor and director of special education programs in the Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, Special Education and Research at Hofstra University, New York. She received her doctorate from New York University. Wilson is the author of numerous articles on co-teaching and learning strategies, and her research focuses on inclusive settings, particularly the effectiveness of co-taught programs and associated teaching strategies. As a consultant to school districts, Wilson provides professional development workshops and coaching to administrators, co-teachers, and paraprofessionals. Having taught in public and private settings from preschool to higher education as a speech and language therapist, special education teacher, and professor for 37 years, she is committed to translating research into effective practices in today's classrooms. Joan Blednick has more than 40 years' experience in public education, as a teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, and adjunct college professor. She received her doctorate in education from Nova University. Most recently, as principal of the Ames Campus of Massapequa High School, New York, Blednick developed and implemented a co-teaching model. Presently, as an educational consultant for Strategic Training and Research Consultants in New York, she strives to build effective co-teaching programs.
