Once the RTI Leadership Planning Team members have familiarized themselves with the major RTI components, they will be ready to develop those components into their school's RTI framework. At this time team members also will discuss how the RTI framework with be implemented. For example, the team will consider:
- Introducing the proposed RTI framework to staff. This includes orienting staff to the RTI framework, gaining buy in, and determining next steps in implementation.
- Forming the RTI Intervention Team. This includes providing professional development to the RTI Intervention Team and ensuring that the RTI problem-solving process is in place.
- Monitoring and supporting the RTI process. This includes assessing how well implementation is going, assessing impact, and planning for enhancements.
A major task of the RTI Leadership Planning Team is to provide feedback and support to the staff as the RTI framework is implemented. Team members will serve as resources and coaches as the staff implements the RTI approach.
