Author Thomas Armstrong reflects on working with ASCD.
"Back in the early 1990s, I had a manuscript on multiple intelligences that I sent to Ron Brandt, who was then heading up ASCD's publications department. He liked the book, and immediately told me that he wanted to publish it. I had also submitted the book to several other publishers, and I told Ron that I wanted to hear from the other publishers first. He was perfectly agreeable with that arrangement.
I was rejected by all the other publishers, and Ron went on to publish Multiple Intelligences in the Classroom, which has sold a few hundred thousand copies. I'm so glad that Ron was patient, and that those other publishers rejected me! My association with ASCD since then (five books published) has been magnificent. I often tell people that ASCD has been my educational guardian angel these past two decades, supporting me through thick and thin. I cannot be more grateful to ASCD for what it has done."
