31 Pre-Conference Institutes Kick Off Conference

ASCD will offer 31 Pre-Conference Institutes for its 70th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show. The three-, two-, and one-day institutes will be held March 18–20, 2015, in Houston, Texas, at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Educators seeking a three-day institute can choose from four options:
  • Understanding by Design 2.0: Designing Understanding-Based Curriculum, presented by Jay McTighe and Elizabeth Rossini.
  • "Teaching Up" for Equity and Excellence, presented by Carol Ann Tomlinson and Edwin Lou Javius.
  • How Teachers Can Turn Data into Action, presented by Daniel Venables and Cari Begin.
  • Common Core Math for the Secondary Teacher: All about Functions, presented by Nanci Smith.
Two- and one-day institutes include sessions presented by ASCD authors and education experts, such as Robert Marzano, Regie Routman, Sue Brookhart, William Parrett and Kathleen Budge, and Douglas Fisher and Nancy Frey. ASCD is also offering two one-day Pre-Conference Institutes that will take participants off-site. Attendees can select the museum visit option or a tour of one of three schools in the nearby Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.
To register for the 70th ASCD Annual Conference and Exhibit Show or any of the Pre-Conference Institutes, visit the conference website at http://annualconference.ascd.org.
