APEX 2017 Awards
Communications Concepts, Inc., recognized ASCD's myTeachSource with an APEX Grand Award for Excellence in Electronic Media. In addition, Educational Leadership's November 2016 issue on "Disrupting Inequity" won an APEX Award for Excellence for Magazines, Journals and Tabloids.
AM&P 2017 EXCEL Awards
For the second year in a row, Education Update shined in the 2017 Association Media & Publishing print newsletter category, taking Gold for General Excellence, as well as Gold, Silver, and Bronze for Editorial Excellence. The digital newsletter ASCD Express claimed Silver for Digital Editorial Excellence. ASCD's myTeachSource earned a Bronze for Website Excellence. EL took home the Bronze for Magazine Excellence for its November 2016 issue "Disrupting Inequity." In the technical book category, Jonathan Cassie's book Level Up Your Classroom: The Quest to Gamify Your Lessons and Engage Your Students won the Gold award.
Kudos to Kim Greene, a senior associate editor for Educational Leadership, who was named a 2017 Emerging Leader, a distinction given to a select group of communications and publishing professionals under 35.
AAP 2017 REVERE Awards
The Association of American Publishers awarded the Golden Lamp Judges Award to ASCD's new book Fostering Resilient Learners: Strategies for Creating a Trauma-Sensitive Classroom by Kristin Souers with Pete Hall. EL tied for Best Overall Editorial in the professional resources category, and Kim Greene's EL article, "For Sale: Your Lesson Plans," won in the News and Reporting professional resources category.
