ASCD Launches Online Advocacy Kit

ASCD's Advocacy Kit, a toolkit for education activists, is now available online. Getting involved to change policies, programs, and perceptions to benefit learners is crucial for educators today. Educators must create effective channels of communication with legislators, the media, and community members to define the policy agenda and make decisions that affect educators and students. The Advocacy Kit provides information about working with policymakers and the media; tips for setting up community forums and media events; glossaries of legislative and media terms; and more. It is available on the ASCD Web site at www.ascd.org/advocacykit.
