- Barbara Vrankovich, Sandra Ann Melchert, and Sherry Dungan, winners of the 1993 Outstanding Dissertation Awards. Vrankovich (University of California, Berkeley) won in the curriculum category, Melchert (University of Idaho) won in instruction, and Dungan (University of Georgia) prevailed in supervision.
- The winners of the Affiliate Publications Awards. Georgia ASCD (Cheryl Hunt, editor), Pennsylvania ASCD (Robert Nicely, Jr., editor), and California ASCD (Barbara Warner, editor) tied for best newsletter. California ASCD (William Snider, editor) and Maine ASCD (Jan Hoffman and Anne Wescott Dodd, editors) tied for best journal. Michigan ASCD (Burton Brooks, editor) won for the most improved journal. Washington ASCD (Rick Schulte, editor), St. Maarten ASCD (Quincy Harrigan, editor), and Texas ASCD (Nancy McClaran, editor) received awards for special publications.
- Maine ASCD, winner of the 1994 Affiliate Excellence Award. Maine ASCD was honored at the Affiliate Awards luncheon and at a General Session.
- Christine Craun was honored at a General Session as the 1993 ASCD Employee of the Year, "in recognition of exemplary service and outstanding contributions." Craun is assistant to ASCD's Meetings Coordinator.
