What Is Your Vision for ASCD?
I am passionate about ASCD, its vision, strategic direction, and that the child is the centerpiece of all planning and programs. I see ASCD as a significant, connected learning community where every member is a leading learner and where collegiality and co-ownership, teamwork, and strategic and innovative processes are valued.
ASCD's growth is dependent on understanding the issues that learning-focused organizations face, so it is timely to connect with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers globally and to make explicit the learnings gathered. As ASCD expands its role as a leader in learning design and continues to create a world-class professional learning world and network in which learners can learn, create, collaborate, innovate, share, and transform their professional practice, ASCD will need to build new and innovative opportunities in the professional learning and development space. This will involve building an anytime, anywhere baseline that supports current and new shared language around the learning that is important for global citizens.
ASCD now needs to commit to expanding internationally and driving the development of professional learning programs and resources that embrace international research and support current and future membership needs. The idea of an ASCD without boundaries is an exciting opportunity for everyone.

What Is Your Vision for ASCD?
We are at a critical period in education today. The implementation of Common Core State Standards has the potential to truly be a "game-changer" for the students we serve. As we make this transition in most states, ASCD is leading the charge in ensuring that the focus remains on educating the needs of the whole child in meeting this challenge. Utilizing the current ASCD strategic framework to accomplish our common goal of truly educating the whole child is paramount.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated my ability to build and cultivate relationships, a focus of innovation and design in my school district, and a thorough understanding that our most critical variables are the process and practice of implementation. I will bring a strong voice, work ethic, and commitment to educating the whole child, if elected to represent the membership of ASCD.

What Is Your Vision for ASCD?
Our purpose as educators is to make meaningful contributions to all of which we are a part. Education is a means to engineer social change and has a fundamental role to play in personal and social development. It is a ladder that can be used to climb out of poverty and oppression. We have the ethical duty to prepare each student with the critical skills they need to effect positive change and to equip them to support a new global direction. Our goal will be to find opportunities to shape policy and provide supports that promote the needs of our youth and educators by seeking to answer the question: "How do we provide each child with the kind of education and opportunities to improve the future?" Answering this will provide that new global direction. It is up to us to explore this question as we implement the strategic plan for our organization.
We have a responsibility to address the needs of the whole child and to do so through the assistance we provide to all educators. I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of the membership that responds to those we serve in ASCD.
