If you are entitled to vote in this year's election, your ballot is enclosed with this newsletter. After reading the elections information in this issue, fill out the ballot using a blue or black ink pen. You will vote for President-Elect, two members of the Board of Directors, and five of six at-large members of the Leadership Council. (The slate for the Leadership Council is not fully contested because of an insufficient number of nominees.) New this year: To comply with Virginia Code, you must sign and date your election ballots. (Unsigned ballots will not be valid.) Then place the ballot in the enclosed envelope and mail it by the postmark date of November 15, 2005. There is no need to add postage.
If you did not receive a ballot: According to ASCD's Constitution, not every member has voting privileges. If you are a complimentary member, or if your payment was not processed as of August 16, 2005, you are not entitled to vote. (Holders of multiple memberships may vote only once.) If you did not receive a ballot but believe you should have received one, please contact Becky DeRigge at ASCD, e-mail: bderigge@ascd.org, phone: 1-800-933-2723 or 1-703-575-5601.
