ASCD is saddened to announce the death of Fred Wilhelms, who served as Executive Secretary of ASCD from 1968 to 1971 and as Senior Associate in 1971-72. Wilhelms edited two ASCD yearbooks (1946 and 1967) and wrote a column in Educational Leadership for two years. His primary professional interest was in curriculum development. Wilhelms died on December 2, 1997, at the age of 90.
