      ASCD was saddened to learn that Susan Loucks-Horsley died on August 8, 2000, from injuries sustained in an accident. Loucks-Horsley was associate executive director at Biological Sciences Curriculum Study and a senior research associate at WestEd. She contributed to two ASCD books: An Action Guide to School Improvement (1985) and Elementary School Science for the '90s (1990).
