      Congratulations to Maine ASCD, which has won the 1994 Affiliate Excellence Award. MASCD was selected after deliberations by members of the ASCD staff, the Affiliate Advisory Committee, and the Executive Council.
      Maine ASCD was honored for constantly seeking new and creative ways to serve its members, despite the challenges of a scattered population and geographic isolation. MASCD has provided financial support to schools participating in ASCD's networks, offered courses on teacher leadership, and joined with other organizations to offer innovative programs, such as MacLeadership, a technology institute. MASCD has also recognized excellence through its "Educational Leader of the Year" and "Program of the Year" awards.
      Maine ASCD will be honored in March at ASCD's Annual Conference in Chicago, Ill.
