This new study finds that low-income children with proper early childhood care perform better in school than their peers who do not have similar care.
- A Survey of K–12 Educators on Social Networking and Content-Sharing Tools. edWeb.net (2009). This survey of educators found that most respondents use social networking tools and feel there is promise in using these tools professionally.
- 2008–2009 State of Schools Report. Nebraska Department of Education (October 2009). A new report on Nebraska's public schools shows consistent improvement in math, science, and reading over the past several years. The report also finds that 60 percent of students perform better on national exams than their peers from other states.
- How State and Federal Accountability Policies Have Influenced Curriculum and Instruction in Three States: Common Findings from Rhode Island, Illinois, and Washington. Center on Education Policy (October 2009). This report looks at how these three states' educators and administrators have adapted to the pressure of increased accountability. The report offers analysis on how accountability measures are helping and hurting schools.
