Here's one tech-savvy way to prevent summer slide: At Jefferson County (KY) Public Schools, the "Literacy & Robotics" camp—coordinated by the district's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Poverty Programs—provides 3rd through 5th graders a free opportunity to learn robotics while strengthening their reading skills over summer break. Students spend part of the day on a robotics activity (here, they assemble a robotic fire truck) and part reading a book related to the activity.
