ASCD's 32-member Strategic Planning Commission is working toward a June deadline for its work.
The commission, composed of ASCD members, officers, and staff, met last October to begin work on the new strategic plan. The group conducted internal and external scanning for the plan and discussed ASCD's mission. ASCD staff members of the commission met in December to complete the scanning process.
The full commission will hold its second meeting this month and its third and final meeting in May. The strategic plan is expected to be presented to the Executive Council in June.
All members attending the 1993 ASCD Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., are encouraged to attend an Open Meeting on Sunday, March 28, 1993, to discuss the new strategic plan. Consult your conference program for details. In addition, members who are not attending the Annual Conference but who have suggestions or comments regarding ASCD's new strategic plan may contact Diane Berreth, ASCD, 1250 N. Pitt St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
