Student Voice on the Future of Tech (Video)

What will technology look like 20 years from now? What will be different and what will be the same about the role technology plays in our lives?
Today, there are more than 2 billion children and teenagers on earth. By 2050, there will be 3 billion. According to UNICEF (2017 report), more than 70 percent of youth is currently online, moving toward 80 and 90 percent as Africa and Asia gain more connectivity. Kids on EarthTM is traveling the world, interviewing kids as they take the first steps toward global citizenship.
Kids on Earth is a collaborative effort with educators, schools, producers, nonprofits, and NGOs that travel the world interviewing youth on the issues and experiences that matter to them. The Kids on Earth library is free, online, and used by teachers, classrooms, parents, and curious kids around the world. It contains hundreds of videos.
In this video, Merisa, a 12-year-old girl from Piran, Slovenia, admits that our relationship with technology is complicated. She talks about digital addiction, how technology changes the way young people interact, and the increasingly interconnected worlds of human and artificial intelligence.
How do your students see technology affecting the way they relate to each other, the world, and themselves? And how do they imagine this will change in the coming years?
