The staff of Update thanks all the ASCD members who took the time to respond to the reader survey included in the October issue of Update. Here's the gist of what you said:
- Fifty-four percent of readers who responded to the survey said that they read some of each issue of Update; 45 percent said they read it cover-to-cover.
- On a scale of 1 (low interest) to 5 (high interest), readers gave an average score of 4.2 to Update and 4.3 to Curriculum Update. In terms of usefulness, readers gave Update a 4.0 and Curriculum Update a 4.1.
- Rating the various types of Update stories on a scale of 1 (low interest) to 5 (high interest), readers gave an average score of:

Survey respondents also suggested a vast array of topics they'd like Update to address. Some of the more common requests were for stories about performance assessment, outcome-based education, cooperative learning, and different student grouping practices. Although space prohibits us from writing on every topic suggested, we'll do our best to address your needs.
