Carla Tischio has been an elementary school teacher in Newtown, Connecticut for 25 years. She recently took a job as Lead Teacher of Hawley Elementary School. Her interest in trauma-informed practices grows from Newtown’s experience with trauma after the Sandy Hook tragedy in 2012.
