Nancy J. Mooney (1951–2011) served as an education consultant on school improvement, school leadership, and communication arts. In her more than 20 years in education, she was a K–12 supervisor of language arts, an elementary principal, and an executive director of teaching and learning. As executive director, she supervised all aspects of teaching and learning, including curriculum development and supervising principals. Nancy pioneered the blueprint processes in St. Joseph, Missouri, which resulted in significant improvements in achievement and earned state honors for her district.
