Roberta Buhle has been a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, and a central office curriculum director in both suburban and urban schools. In addition to designing the Project Leap First Grade Literacy Intervention Program, she codeveloped a matching kindergarten intervention. She also helped design the Illinois Snapshots of Early Literacy, an assessment for K–2 early literacy. Buhle, who was named an Outstanding Educator by a local reading association, is a consultant to a state literacy center. She has written articles and chapters on early literacy and professional development.
